A couple of recent articles in the Irish Times and the Independent  highlights the dangers of travelling overseas for dental treatment.

Our advice:
 * Always get a 2nd opinion
 * Find out who will be carrying out the treatment and what their qualifications are
 * Consider what happens if it goes wrong – is there a complaints resolution service in place (as there is in Ireland) or in the worst case scenario is there any recourse for  compensation?
 * Remember that your enamel NEVER grows back and should be treated conservatively. Choose the least agressive treatment that will do the job effectively. Getting 8 ill-fitting crowns for €200 each is not a bargain!
